There are guite a few different searsch programs in order to find your family. I am (was) in OGF; One Great Family. It is a very nice site, but you need to pay aome each month or once in 6 months or a year. Cant recall how much that was in a year. It ahs A LOT of people there ... from USA... not much from other countries yet anyway. The thing that I like in it is taht it connects you with ANYONE who apparently has the same ancestor with you. Thus you do not do double work.
Right now I have no money to pay even that but... I think it will save my tree til I pay again... actually I have had access to it event hough I have not payed for a while.
Problem there is that NOT everybody is doing so very carefull jobb and there are possibly many mistkes. Also if you said yes that is yopur family you may suddenly get a wrong family in yout tree if you do not watch it.
For me taht is not so good as there is so few finnish there that I never got any connections... it is only my DH with the bluebloodline...
Family Search is free and the new one is really good. There too you need to connect people but the problem may be if someone has the right person and you connect that and that person has wrong parents... like I once connected people so I got a son to be his fathers father, by connecting, as someone had had a wrong mother.
